The head of the Maimhov clan, and once mate to Raih’li Bajihri. She is a no-nonsense taking but caring mother, who does her best to provide for her children and teach them the way to survive.
Miah has spent her entire life traveling the Black Shroud as a nomad, first with her family and their network of tribes and later with her mate and children. She was fast friends with the third son of the Bajihri family, and the two spent their childhood hunting together. They welcomed their first daughter into the world in the early spring of her 19th year. They would go on to have a second daughter and one son, though Miah’a has never met his father. Raih’li had a ritual he would follow of asking for Menphina’s blessing for his children. For this he would travel to her mark in the Central Highlands of Coerthas, but when he went to pray for their yet unborn son, he was never heard from again. Miah gave birth to her son on the final day of the year, with the assistance of a close friend from another traveling tribe.
Miah was devastated by the supposed death of her mate and still mourns his loss to this day. She has never taken another lover.
She has an intense hatred for Wood Wailers and by extension the elementals themselves. When Qhas was five summers old Miah and Riah’li took her along to observe a hunt from a distance. During this hunt Miah was pierced through the leg by a spear thrown by a young wood wailer who mistook her for a poacher (”mistook” being said lightly, as it isn’t likely the boy cared about her hunting practices so much as her race) Raih’li came to her rescue before the Wood Wailer could retrieve the spear and finish her and carried her home to tend to her wound and comfort his daughter. She had a dislike for them previous to this, but it cemented her hatred as she spent months out of commission and relying on Raih’li and Qhas while also watching over Rhaq.
Miah is of the opinion that the elementals are fickle and greedy. And though she doesn’t go so far as to upset them or poach, she believes them to be responsible for the lifestyle of the Couerlclaws and similar bandits and poachers.
